If you are, as the common saying goes, of a certain age, and grew up in a certain culture feeling a bit of a geek, the odds are good that you were drawn to science fiction, fantasy, and horror. As in your growing up you learned the names of the giants of these fields -- Asimov, Tolkien, Stoker, to pick three representative examples -- you eventually learned another name, a fan who had gotten there before you. Forrest J Ackerman wrote some stories and served as an editor and agent, but mostly he was the world's biggest fantasy (to use the broadest term) fan in the world. This clip explains.
